• Free standing. These Kelty Shelters can stand alone or you can use the stakes and guy ropes to make the sunshade even more secure. There are even additional guy ropes that allow you to tie the tent to permanent objects for even more security.
• Adjustable Height and Width. You can choose to have a shade that covers a lot of horizontal space and is lower to the ground or a shade that is perfect for standing under, but shades a smaller horizontal area.
• Fiberglass poles are pretty lightweight for carrying them for pitching.

At first glance Kelty Sun shades look like a near perfect way to get the shade you need wherever and when ever you need it.

The unique design allows for setup almost anywhere and the guy lines allow you to really anchor this sunshade down should the need arise.

However, in looking at the large number of reviews for this product it seems as though perhaps the Kelty Sun shade looks better than it performs.

Fiberglass poles. Almost every reviewer agreed that this sunshade should have aluminum not fiberglass poles as the poles often proved weak in windy conditions.

Blocked the sun but provided no relief from the heat. While most users agreed that the Kelty Sunshade did protect them from the sun, many users felt that the sunshade did not offer any relief from the heat and may actually hold heat in, making it hotter under the sunshade than out in the sun.
