The Kelty crestone 1 has a few advantages. It's priced at under $130.00, which makes it an affordable tent for most hikers on a budget. It's lightweight and easy to set up and is well ventilated.

It is not free standing making it difficult to use when camping on rocky soil or soft sand as the ends have to be staked down. There is not much interior space and can be difficult getting in and out of in wet weather. The small vestibule does not have much storage room.

The Kelty crestone 2 has the same disadvantages as the Crestone 1 which is the lack of interior space. It also is not a free standing tent.

The Kelty crestone 2 tent scored higher on reviews than the Kelty crestone 1 mainly because those giving the reviews used this tent as a single person tent rather than for 2 people. This tent offers plenty of room for one person which was the main problem with the Crestone 1.

The Kelty crestone 2 tent like the Crestone 1 is a well made, attractively priced tent that is lightweight, making it ideal for backpackers.
